AbstractGiven the ubiquity of family businesses and the growing importance of ecological sustainability, it is crucial to promote family businesses to carry out green innovation activities and enhance their green innovation capability. In recent years, the prevalence of common institutional ownership in capital markets has attracted the attention of the academic community. Drawing on socioemotional wealth theory and strategic reference point theory, this paper tries to explore the impact of common institutional ownership on green innovation in family businesses. Using data from Chinese‐listed family businesses from 2009 to 2021, this paper finds that common institutional ownership can facilitate green innovation in family businesses. The higher the degree of their linkage and the greater the shareholding, the more pronounced the synergistic effect. The findings remained valid after considering the endogeneity issue and conducting robustness tests. The mechanism test suggests that common institutional ownership enhances green innovation in family businesses by improving the internal control quality and reducing financing constraints. This paper contributes to the study of how to effectively facilitate green innovation in family businesses by identifying the common institutional ownership from the perspective of external governance mechanisms. In addition, this paper enriches the research on the economic consequences of common institutional ownership. Finally, various practical implications for family businesses and policymakers may be realized, which may help family businesses to enhance their green innovation capabilities and contribute to the green transformation of society.

Abstract
Music is neither a construction of pitches nor a linear arrangement of vocal parts, but rather an energetic shaping through time that integrates articulation, harmony, melody, and rhythm. Music expresses a kind of gesture in the dimension of sounds. In most cases, musical expressions, compared to linguistic expressions, are more like a state of motion or a behavior of sounds originating from physical sensations. Musical gesture can interpret the emotional expression and meaning of music from a perspective that is closer to the nature of music. Such an interpretation is not constrained by the traditional analysis of form and content, self-discipline and heteronomy, subjectivity and objectivity. It is more about how to stimulate the sensory systems to join in and understand the behavior and contents of music expressions in order to synthesize the meaning of music in different dimensions.

AbstractAimsIncreasing preclinical and clinical reports have demonstrated the efficacy of gabapentin (GBP) in treating alcohol use disorder (AUD). However, the mechanism of the effects of GBP in AUD is largely unknown. Herein, we sought to investigate the effect of GBP in a rat model of AUD and explore the underlying mechanism.MethodsThe intermittent access to 20% ethanol in a 2-bottle choice (IA2BC) procedure was exploited to induce high voluntary ethanol consumption in rats. The rats were treated daily for 20 days with different doses of GBP, simultaneously recording ethanol/water intake. The locomotor activity and grooming behavior of rats were also tested to evaluate the potential effects of GBP on confounding motor in rats. The levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in serum and hippocampus homogenate from the rats were detected by using ELISA. The expressions of peroxisome proliferator-activated-receptor γ (PPAR-γ) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in the hippocampus were determined by immunofluorescence and western blot.ResultsGBP reduced alcohol consumption, whereas increased water consumption and locomotor activity of rats. GBP was also able to decrease the levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in both serum and hippocampus, in addition to the expression of NF-κB in the hippocampus. Furthermore, these effects attributed to GBP were observed to disappear in the presence of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE), a specific inhibitor of PPAR-γ.ConclusionsOur findings revealed that GBP could activate PPAR-γ to suppress the NF-κB signaling pathway, contributing to the decrease of ethanol consumption and ethanol-induced neuroimmune responses.
